Quilled Sliver

In Commander, Quilled Sliver is a role-player in dedicated Sliver tribal builds only — the ability scales with board width, so in a 30-Sliver list it can tap down multiple blockers or make attacking into you a genuine calculation, but it does nothing outside that context. In Legacy, Slivers can assemble a critical mass fast enough for the tap ability to matter, though the format's combo and control density means you rarely reach a board state where pinging 1 damage to attackers is the relevant axis. Modern Sliver lists are fringe, and Quilled Sliver competes for slots against pieces with more immediate pressure; it's a sideboard consideration at best against aggressive creature strategies. Vintage and Oathbreaker follow the same logic as Legacy and Commander respectively — legal, occasionally playable in tribal shells, never a priority.
