Quandrix Cultivator card art
Quandrix Cultivator enters, fetches a basic land onto the battlefield tapped, and leaves a 3/3 body behind — ramp and a blocker stapled together for five mana. It's honest value without any ceiling, which makes it a reliable role-player in Simic creature-based shells, though Esix, Fractal Bloom decks in particular prize the enters-the-battlefield trigger as a token-copy target.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Esix, Fractal Bloom

Esix, Fractal Bloom

30.3% of decks · synergy 0.29

Esix, Fractal Bloom turns the first token created each turn into a copy of any creature on the battlefield, so Quandrix Cultivator becomes a free template — copy it, trigger another land fetch, and double up on bodies without casting anything extra.

02
Archelos, Lagoon Mystic

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic

23.1% of decks · synergy 0.23

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic rewards playing lands tapped, and Quandrix Cultivator drops its basic directly into that deal — the tapped stipulation that would otherwise be a minor downside becomes noise in a deck built around it.

03
Adrix and Nev, Twincasters

Adrix and Nev, Twincasters

12.2% of decks · synergy 0.11

Adrix and Nev, Twincasters doubles every token created, so Quandrix Cultivator's enters-the-battlefield land fetch is secondary to the 3/3 fractal body itself, which immediately becomes two tokens and two triggers for whatever payoffs the deck is running.

FormatVerdict

Quandrix Cultivator is a Commander card through and through — the five-mana slot is too slow for Modern or Pioneer, where the ramp package needs to operate at two or three mana to stay relevant, and Pauper doesn't even carry it. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes against a ramp ecosystem that makes it irrelevant. Commander is where the math works: bodies that generate value on entry are never dead draws, the tapped-land drawback disappears in a slower format, and any deck that copies creatures or cares about enters-the-battlefield effects gets something extra from Quandrix Cultivator that a naked Cultivate doesn't offer.
