Pyrotechnic Performer enters the battlefield and immediately doubles your token count — every token you control gets a copy — and that symmetrical explosion is the whole reason to run it. Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods turns those tokens into a lethal combat swing the same turn; Yedora, Grave Gardener can recycle the sacrifice fodder that fuels the engine.

Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods
Pyrotechnic Performer is near-universal in Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods decks because the token doubling fills the board with creatures that immediately cash in for Yarus's power-stacking damage triggers, turning one entry point into a game-ending swing.

Kaust, Eyes of the Glade
Kaust, Eyes of the Glade cares about having creatures with different power values, and Pyrotechnic Performer's enter-the-battlefield token flood supplies a wide spread of bodies to satisfy that condition in a single cast.

Pyrotechnic Performer is a Commander card through and through — the token-doubling payoff scales with the wide boards that multiplayer games naturally produce, and the three-mana entry cost is reasonable when the effect can copy a dozen tokens at once. In 1v1 formats like Modern or Pioneer, the floor is much lower: boards are smaller, the effect is narrower, and three mana for a vanilla body plus a handful of tokens rarely competes with what those formats demand. Legacy and Vintage have the raw power of Pyrotechnic Performer's effect available in formats where combo and tempo matter far more than token synergy, so it doesn't see meaningful play there either. Stick to Commander.

$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Pyrotechnic Performer is bulk — you're paying almost nothing for one of the most synergistic token doublers available to red-green strategies. That price is unlikely to move much given print availability, so grab copies freely without worrying about timing.
