In Commander, Pyromatics is a niche include for Izzet storm and spell-slinger decks that need a mana sink to convert a long spell chain into lethal damage across multiple opponents — it's not a general-purpose removal spell. Pauper is where it has seen the most competitive daylight, functioning as a storm finisher in commons-legal spell decks where the ceiling on redundant activations is actually reachable.
