Prized Elephant is a 3/3 trample for four mana that becomes a 4/4 if you control a Forest — reasonable stats with upside, but four mana for a vanilla-adjacent creature is a tough sell in 2024. It's bulk for a reason: green has better bodies at this slot in every format where it's legal.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Prized Elephant is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it sees essentially zero competitive play in any of them. In Commander, green has no shortage of four-mana creatures that do far more — Prized Elephant offers trample and conditional +1/+1, which isn't a draw when the format is full of Cultivate effects and ETB value creatures at the same cost. Legacy and Modern have creature bars too high for a 4/4 with no enters-the-battlefield effect, no keywords beyond trample, and no synergy text. It's not illegal anywhere relevant; it's just outclassed.

$0.24 bulk tier
At $0.24, Prized Elephant sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price is stable because demand isn't coming. It's a bulk common you pick out of a box, not a card you buy.
