Pristine Skywise is a 6/4 flying dragon that turns each noncreature spell you cast into a Fog-proof combat trick — untap it and grant it protection from the color of your choice until end of turn. The setup cost is real: six mana for a creature that needs spell support to do its best work, so it earns a slot in spellslinger or Temur/Jeskai dragon builds but sits awkwardly in anything else.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Pristine Skywise actually lives — spell-heavy dragon builds led by commanders like Ramos, Dragon Engine or Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm can trigger its ability repeatedly in a single turn, making it nearly impossible to block or remove profitably. Outside Commander, Pristine Skywise is legal in Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage, but sees essentially zero play in any of them; six mana for a reactive threat is far too slow when those formats end games on turns three through five. Oathbreaker is the one fringe case worth noting, where a noncreature-spell-dense shell might squeeze out a trigger or two, but even there the mana cost holds it back.

Price Context
Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Pristine Skywise is deep bulk — you're picking this out of a dollar box, not a binder. Bulk mythics rarely climb without a reprint-driven spike or a sudden competitive application, and nothing on the horizon suggests either for this card.
