Powerstone Fracture destroys a target artifact or creature and creates a tapped Powerstone token — two-for-one removal that replaces itself with mana. The two-mana cost and broad targeting make it a clean include in any black deck that wants interaction without card disadvantage.

In Commander, Powerstone Fracture punches above its weight because artifact and creature removal on the same card is exactly what black wants — the Powerstone token even helps cast expensive spells later in the game. In Pauper, two-mana removal is competitive enough and the token has real value in slower, grindier matchups. Modern and Pioneer have too many faster, cleaner options — Fatal Push and Abrupt Decay make Powerstone Fracture redundant there. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a sorcery-speed two-drop to matter.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Powerstone Fracture is deep bulk — grab a copy out of a commons box and don't think twice about it. Bulk rares can spike on a reprint or sudden Commander demand, but nothing about this card's profile suggests that's coming.
