Pond Prophet card art
Pond Prophet puts a Frog token and a scry into every attacking tap of a creature you control — that's card selection stapled to a board-presence engine on a single three-mana body. Clement, the Worrywort decks run it in nearly every list because the tap-for-value loop maps perfectly onto what those decks already want to do.

01
Clement, the Worrywort

Clement, the Worrywort

95.4% of decks · synergy 0.91

Clement, the Worrywort taps creatures as a core mechanic, so Pond Prophet turns every activation into a free Frog plus scry 1 — the two cards form a self-sustaining value loop that nearly every Clement build wants from turn three onward.

02
Grolnok, the Omnivore

Grolnok, the Omnivore

60.9% of decks · synergy 0.56

Grolnok, the Omnivore cares about Frogs above all else, and Pond Prophet generates one every time you attack with a tapped creature, fueling exile-zone card advantage directly off combat.

03
Glarb, Calamity's Augur

Glarb, Calamity's Augur

15.5% of decks · synergy 0.14

Glarb, Calamity's Augur rewards casting spells on opponents' turns, and the scry from Pond Prophet helps you dig toward the instants and flash spells that make that engine fire.

oathbreaker

Pond Prophet is a Commander card — the tap-trigger engine only compounds in a multiplayer game where you have more attackers, more turns, and more opponents to outpace on card selection. In Pauper it's legal and the rate is theoretically fine, but aggressive blue-green shells there want speed over incremental scry, so it rarely finds a home. Standard, Pioneer, and Modern have no meaningful shell that rewards this kind of slow token-and-scry accumulation, and Pond Prophet doesn't slot into any established Legacy or Vintage strategy. Stay in Commander.

Price Context

Current price

$0.27 bulk tier

At $0.27, Pond Prophet is bulk — you're not paying a premium for a card that sees 95% of its play in one Commander archetype. That price is stable as long as Clement, the Worrywort remains a popular commander; there's no cross-format demand to push it higher.
