Polymorphous Rush turns your entire board into copies of any creature on the battlefield until end of turn — that's a surprise combat swing, a combo enabler, or a way to flood the table with Mirror-Mad Phantasm triggers for a single strive payment. The cost scales with how many creatures you want to convert, but even hitting two or three targets at instant speed is usually worth it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Polymorphous Rush sees essentially zero competitive play in Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer — the strive cost scales poorly when you're only pointing it at one or two creatures, and those formats have faster, more reliable ways to end games. Commander is where it actually belongs: the format's wide token boards make the strive clause genuinely threatening, and the instant speed lets you ambush blockers or snap off a combo mid-combat. The card's ceiling is situational even in Commander, slotting cleanly into token flood or clone-synergy builds but doing little in value or control shells.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Polymorphous Rush is deep bulk — this is a throw-it-in-a-trade-binder price point. It won't appreciate unless a new Commander breaks the strive mechanic wide open, so treat it as a cheap experiment rather than a hold.
