Pitchstone Wall blocks, then replaces itself when it dies — a two-mana 3/4 defender that draws a card on death is quietly above rate for any deck that wants to stall the ground. The catch is the discard: you pitch a card to draw a card, so the net hand size is zero, which makes it card-selection rather than card advantage.

In Commander, Pitchstone Wall is a fringe inclusion in decks that specifically want cheap blockers with death triggers — Dredge-style self-mill or discard-matters builds can use the loot effect, but most red Commander decks would rather run a proactive three-drop. Legacy and Vintage are legal formats for it, but a 3/4 Wall that loots on death has never been close to playable in either — the card does nothing on offense and the loot comes too late. Pitchstone Wall is a Commander-or-nowhere card, and even there it's a narrow role-player.

Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Pitchstone Wall is deep bulk — buy a stack for a dollar and you'll have enough copies for every casual deck you ever build. Bulk walls rarely appreciate, so treat this as a free inclusion, not an asset.
