Pit Raptor enters with a deathtouch body that trades up with almost anything, and its triggered ability deals damage equal to the blocked creature's power directly to that creature's controller on top of the combat damage. The cost is real — five mana for a 3/3 is below rate, and the payoff only fires in combat, making it a conditional threat rather than a reliable closer.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Pit Raptor fills a niche in deathtouch-matters or combat-damage-trigger builds, where the political pressure of "attack me and your opponent takes damage too" has genuine table relevance — but five mana is a lot to ask for a creature that doesn't protect itself or generate immediate card advantage. Legacy and Vintage are legal formats for Pit Raptor, though neither has any interest in a five-mana vanilla-ish creature when those formats are decided well before turn five. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there it's competing against deathtouch creatures that either cost less or come with upside that isn't contingent on getting into combat.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Pit Raptor is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. That price is stable simply because demand is low, so don't expect movement in either direction.
