Pilgrim of the Ages fetches a Plains on entry and returns itself from the graveyard for two mana, giving white decks a repeatable land-grab that doubles as graveyard recursion fodder. The rate is slow, but the redundancy is real — any deck that cares about Plains in the bin or needs a resilient mana-fixer will find a use for it.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Pilgrim of the Ages earns a slot in Plains-synergy builds — Emeria, the Sky Ruin decks, Mono-White grind lists, and anything that loops enters-the-battlefield triggers off white creatures. Pauper is where it gets genuinely interesting: the combination of a 1/1 body, a land fetch, and a self-recurring engine is unusual at common and has seen fringe play in white-based control shells. In Modern and Pioneer it's too slow to compete with faster ramp and better bodies, and Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a two-mana 1/1 that finds basics. Stick to Pauper or Commander — those are the formats where the recursion clause actually matters.

$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Pilgrim of the Ages is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box without thinking twice. Price stability at this tier is a given; it won't rise without a reprint spike or a breakout Pauper list, and neither is likely soon.
