Pharika's Chosen

In Commander, Pharika's Chosen is a role-player in deathtouch-tribal or snake-tribal lists and a near-auto-include under Aphelia, Viper Whisperer — outside those contexts, a 1/1 for one rarely makes the cut in a 99-card singleton format. In Pauper, deathtouch on a one-drop is more meaningful: it blocks profitably all game and can earn a slot in black aggro or attrition shells where cheap threats accumulate. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer, Pharika's Chosen doesn't clear the bar — more efficient one-drops exist at every point on the curve, and deathtouch alone doesn't compensate for the lack of additional text.
