Perimeter Sergeant pumps every Wall and Defender you control at the end of combat, turning a board of blockers into a legitimate clock. Three mana for a 2/3 that buffs the whole team permanently is the kind of rate Defender decks need to actually threaten opponents.

Commander is where Perimeter Sergeant belongs — Arcades, the Strategist and Doran, the Siege Tower shells run enough Defenders to make the end-of-combat trigger relevant every single turn. In Pauper, it slots into Walls-based combo-control builds that can realistically attack with a pumped team. Modern and Pioneer have more efficient payoffs for the archetype, so Perimeter Sergeant is a fringe option at best in those formats. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a three-mana anthem effect, full stop.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Perimeter Sergeant is deep bulk — you're picking this out of a dollar bin or grabbing a playset for less than a pack of sleeves. Bulk rares don't hold value, but this one doesn't need to: if you're building the deck, you're buying it for function, not finance.
