Paragon of the Amesha buffs itself and up to four other creatures with first strike, flying, lifelink, trample, and vigilance — but only if they're white, blue, black, red, or green respectively, meaning the full payoff requires a five-color board. Seven mana for a 2/2 with conditional anthem effects is a steep ask, and outside dedicated five-color go-wide shells it rarely delivers enough to justify the slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Paragon of the Amesha is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially zero competitive play in any of them. In Commander it has a narrow home in five-color creature-heavy decks where the full suite of keywords can be distributed across a wide board, but seven mana for a 2/2 with conditional upside is hard to justify when cheaper anthems and equipment exist. Legacy, Modern, and Vintage offer no context where this effect at this cost is remotely competitive. Oathbreaker is its best realistic home outside Commander, again only in five-color aggressive builds.

$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Paragon of the Amesha is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box without thinking. That price is stable because demand is essentially zero, so there's no pressure driving it anywhere.
