Outland Boar enters as a 4/4 trample for three mana and immediately destroys a target artifact or enchantment — you get a threat and an answer on the same card. That rate is good enough to run in any green-red midrange shell that wants interaction without dedicating a slot to a pure removal spell.

In Commander, Outland Boar slots cleanly into any Gruul or multicolor green-red shell as redundant artifact and enchantment hate — three mana for a 4/4 trample that removes a problem permanent is efficient by Commander standards. Competitive tables are littered with Rhystic Study, Sol Ring, and Smothering Tithe, so the trigger is rarely wasted. In Modern and Pioneer, Outland Boar is too slow against the field; a three-mana creature that trades parity for a noncreature permanent isn't clearing the bar when faster threats and cleaner removal exist. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in it for the same reason, amplified. Commander is the only format where Outland Boar earns a genuine slot recommendation.

$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Outland Boar is deep bulk — buy a playset for pocket change and never think about the cost again. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't appreciate, but they don't need to; you're running it for the effect, not the equity.
