Orzhov Racketeers punishes opponents every time a creature you control dies, draining life equal to that creature's power — stack enough deaths and the table folds fast. The ceiling is absurd in sacrifice loops, especially with Nim Deathmantle turning each recursion into another trigger, but you're paying four mana for a 3/3 with no enters-the-battlefield effect, so it earns its slot only in dedicated aristocrats builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Orzhov Racketeers is a Commander card through and through — the repeated death triggers only compound when you're generating 40 life worth of pressure across multiple opponents, and the format's longer games give you time to assemble the sacrifice engine the card demands. In Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer it's outclassed before it even resolves; those formats move too fast for a four-mana 3/3 that needs setup to do anything. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's multiplayer math that the drain math gets interesting, but the card still wants a purpose-built shell to pull its weight.

$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Orzhov Racketeers is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a dollar box rather than order singles. The price reflects narrow demand, and nothing about its role in combo loops is likely to change that.
