In Commander, Ornithopter earns its slot in any deck that counts artifacts, triggers on non-human attackers, or runs a free-cast combo loop — it's not a general-purpose include, but in the right shell it's close to mandatory. In Modern and Legacy, it shows up in Affinity-style strategies and storm-adjacent decks where a zero-cost artifact that triggers Mox Opal's metalcraft or fuels a Thought Monitor draw matters more than what it actually does in combat. Pauper sees it in similar artifact synergy builds where the free body is a meaningful enabler.
