Orim's Cure gains you life equal to the damage prevented — but preventing 4 damage off a combat trick at instant speed for two mana is a fine rate only in dedicated lifegain shells. Outside of those, it's a worse Fog with a minor upside, and that's not a card most decks want.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Orim's Cure is a niche inclusion — it earns its slot only in lifegain-matters builds where every point triggers something, not as general interaction. In Legacy and Vintage, it's strictly outclassed by Healing Salve and far outclassed by actual disruption, so it sees no real play there. Pauper is the most charitable home outside Commander: combat tricks exist in the format, and dedicated white lifegain decks can extract value from the prevention clause, though even there it sits at the margins. Orim's Cure is legal in Oathbreaker as well, where the smaller life totals make a four-point prevention swing marginally more relevant.

$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Orim's Cure is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. It won't appreciate; the card sees no competitive play and casual demand stays low, so picking up a copy costs almost nothing and so does cutting it.
