Open into Wonder pushes an entire attacking army through unblocked and refills your hand on the spot — the payoff is immediate and often game-ending. The cost scales with the number of targets, which makes it expensive in a vacuum but trivially cheap in Hinata, Dawn-Crowned, where each target costs only one mana.

Hinata, Dawn-Crowned
Hinata, Dawn-Crowned's cost-reduction ability turns Open into Wonder from an expensive finisher into a near-free one — targeting a full board of attackers can cost as little as two or three mana total, making this one of the most busted cards in the deck.

Anowon, the Ruin Thief
Anowon, the Ruin Thief wants as many Rogues connecting as possible, and Open into Wonder delivers both the unblockable clause and the card draw to capitalize on every successful mill trigger at once.

Zaxara, the Exemplary
Zaxara, the Exemplary counts Open into Wonder as an X spell, generating a Hydra token on cast while simultaneously pushing a wide board through for damage — it does double duty in a shell that wants both.

Admiral Beckett Brass
Admiral Beckett Brass needs three Pirates to connect with the same player each combat, and Open into Wonder makes that happen reliably while replacing itself with fresh cards to press the advantage.

Open into Wonder is a Commander card through and through — the effect scales with board size, and a wide creature deck is exactly what you find there. In competitive formats like Legacy and Modern, sorcery-speed pump spells that cost six or more mana simply don't survive the pace of the format, and the card sees essentially zero play in those contexts. Pioneer is similarly inhospitable; aggressive decks don't want a six-drop finisher when cheaper, faster closers exist. The card's home is squarely at the Commander table, where the late game is routine, wide boards are common, and drawing three or four cards off a single spell is the kind of two-for-one that wins games.

$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Open into Wonder is bulk — easy to acquire and easy to justify testing without any financial commitment. Bulk rares at this price point rarely spike unless a high-profile deck or combo pushes demand, and this one has no such catalyst on the horizon.
