Old-Growth Dryads is a 3/3 for one mana — the best rate on a green creature at that size — and the cost is that every opponent searches up a basic land when it enters. That downside is real enough to keep it out of most fair decks, but in shells that want opponents ramped (Group Hug, Tempt With Discovery strategies) or that win before the extra lands matter, it's exactly what it looks like: a one-mana 3/3.

In Commander, Old-Growth Dryads is a niche inclusion — the three-player land gift is too steep for aggro or tempo strategies, but it finds a home in Group Hug builds and in aggressive stompy lists that close fast enough that the free basics never matter. Legacy and Vintage see it nowhere; one-mana 3/3s without additional upside don't crack those formats. Modern and Pioneer are where the honest conversation happens: it has seen fringe play in aggressive green lists looking for early bodies, but the symmetrical ramp is a real liability against ramp or big-mana decks that punish you for handing them a land on turn one.

Price Context
Current price
$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Old-Growth Dryads is firmly bulk — you're not paying for scarcity, you're paying for cardboard. That price is stable; narrow cards with a real downside don't spike, and this one isn't getting reprinted into relevance anytime soon.
