Obyra's Attendants // Desperate Parry enters as a 1/1 that creates a 1/1 Faerie token with flying, then flips into a one-mana instant that prevents all damage to a creature and draws a card — two usable halves stapled together. The front side is underpowered for most formats, but the back is a legitimate cantripping protection spell in aggressive or tempo builds.

In Commander, Obyra's Attendants // Desperate Parry fits narrowest in Faerie tribal decks — Alela, Artful Provocateur and similar commanders who benefit from every additional flier — where the front side's token has real synergy and Desperate Parry buys back a key threat for one mana while replacing itself. Outside tribal, it's too low-impact for 100-card singleton. In Pauper and aggressive Standard or Pioneer builds, Desperate Parry is the draw: one-mana damage prevention that cantrips is efficient enough to see fringe sideboard consideration against burn or fight-spell strategies. Legacy and Vintage have no use for either half.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Obyra's Attendants // Desperate Parry is deep bulk — pick it up freely in trade binders. Demand is narrow enough that it won't climb unless a dedicated Faerie shell breaks out, so don't expect it to hold more than bulk value long-term.
