Oathsworn Knight card art
Oathsworn Knight enters with four +1/+1 counters and can't gain more — but as long as it has any counters, it doesn't take damage, making it a nearly unkillable blocker that eats removal without dying. The cost is that a single wrath or -X/-X effect strips the counters and it's gone, so resilience depends entirely on protecting it, not on its own text.

Oathsworn Knight is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker. In Commander it fits cleanest into counter-synergy builds — Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and similar commanders can refresh its counters via proliferate, turning the enters-the-battlefield limitation into a non-issue over a long game. In Modern and Pioneer it's seen fringe play as a resilient two-drop in black midrange, but the damage-immunity clause does nothing against the format's dominant removal (Fatal Push, Unholy Heat) since those don't deal damage — the card's power is narrower in 1v1 than it first reads. Legacy and Vintage have enough redundancy at two mana that Oathsworn Knight doesn't compete seriously.
