In Commander, Oakshade Stalker // Moonlit Ambusher occupies the role of a value creature that scales into the late game — the transform mechanic means it stays relevant whether you're building board presence early or converting to a threat when the game opens up. In Modern and Pioneer, the card faces stiff competition from more efficient threats, so it's a fringe consideration at best, showing up only in decks that specifically want the double-faced card mechanic for synergy reasons. Legacy and Vintage have no interest — the power bar is simply too high in those formats for a creature this incremental. Oathbreaker, like Commander, gives it room to breathe where games are slower and the flexible body matters.
