Nyxborn Eidolon is a 2/1 with deathtouch that can bestow a +2/+1 and deathtouch bonus onto another creature for five mana — passable stats on a standalone, underwhelming enchantment rate. The bestow cost is simply too high for what you get, and cheaper deathtouch enablers exist in every format.

Nyxborn Eidolon sees essentially no competitive play anywhere. In Pauper, where commons carve out niches, the bestow cost keeps it off the table — five mana for a +2/+1 aura is poor rate when aggressive and tempo decks want efficiency above all else. Commander is the most forgiving home, specifically in enchantress or Constellation builds where any enchantment cast triggers payoffs, but Nyxborn Eidolon still competes with better bestow creatures and better deathtouch enablers in those colors. Legacy, Vintage, Modern, and Pioneer simply have no shell where this slots in over cheaper alternatives.
