Mythos of Vadrok destroys a non-land permanent outright — no targeting restrictions beyond the color condition — and if you control a red, white, or blue permanent, it also deals 3 damage to any target on top of that. The catch is the five-mana price tag, which means it competes hard against cheaper removal in formats where efficiency is everything.

In Commander, Mythos of Vadrok occupies a narrow niche: it's unconditional permanent removal in Jeskai and other red-white-blue shells, but five mana is a steep ask when Generous Gift and Swords to Plowshares exist. The damage rider matters most when you're already pressuring life totals or need to close out a weakened opponent, and decks that can recur sorceries — via Vadrok, Apex of Thunder or similar engines — get substantially more mileage out of it. In Modern and Pioneer it's essentially unplayable; five mana for removal that doesn't immediately win the game isn't competitive at those speeds. Legacy and Vintage have even less patience for it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Mythos of Vadrok is deep bulk — you're not paying a premium for anything here. The price reflects its narrow playability, and there's no reason to expect it to move unless a new recur-sorceries commander dramatically boosts demand.
