Myr Sire card art
Myr Sire trades one body for two — when it dies, it leaves behind a 1/1 Myr token, making every sacrifice outlet or combat trade cost your opponent an extra step. In Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch decks, that replacement body isn't incidental; it's another Myr trigger waiting to happen.

01
Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

52.7% of decks · synergy 0.51

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch untaps every Myr you control at the beginning of combat, and Myr Sire guarantees at least one Myr survives into the next turn — die or no die. Over half of all Urtet decks run it for exactly that resilience.

02
Arcum Dagsson

Arcum Dagsson

38.4% of decks · synergy 0.38

Arcum Dagsson sacrifices artifact creatures to tutor up any non-creature artifact, and Myr Sire replaces itself on sacrifice — giving Arcum a free tutor that leaves a blocker behind. It's a two-for-one that keeps the engine running without costing card advantage.

03
Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist

Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist

35.7% of decks · synergy 0.35

Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist wants a steady stream of artifacts entering and dying, and Myr Sire is a single card that triggers that loop twice. The Myr token it leaves behind is immediately ready as the next sacrifice fodder.

04
Baba Lysaga, Night Witch

Baba Lysaga, Night Witch

20.7% of decks · synergy 0.20

Baba Lysaga, Night Witch scores points for controlling an artifact, a creature, and other permanent types simultaneously, and Myr Sire's death token keeps the artifact-plus-creature requirement met even through removal. It's low-cost insurance that the Lysaga condition stays live.

05
Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut

Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut

14.2% of decks · synergy 0.13

Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut turns every artifact creature into a 5/3 trampler, so the 1/1 Myr token Myr Sire leaves behind becomes another 5/3 attacker for free. It's one of the cheapest ways to pad the artifact creature count without spending real resources.

Format Analysis

FormatVerdict

oathbreaker

Myr Sire is a Commander card first and almost exclusively — the combination of tribal Myr synergy, death triggers, and sacrifice loops is far more exploitable in a 100-card singleton format with dedicated commanders than in any 60-card context. In Pauper it's technically playable but sees almost no competitive presence; two mana for a 1/1 that replaces itself is acceptable but not exciting when the format rewards tighter curves. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest — the rate is simply too slow for those formats' threat density. Commander is where Myr Sire earns its keep, slotting cleanly into artifact, sacrifice, and Myr-tribal strategies as a cheap, resilient body that punishes opponents for trading resources.

Price Context

Current price

$0.21 bulk tier

At $0.21, Myr Sire is deep bulk — you'll find it in a commons box before you'd bother ordering it. The price is stable because demand is narrow and supply is abundant; don't expect movement in either direction.
