Myr Convert card art
Myr Convert enters with a poison counter already on it and taps for any color, which is a meaningful combination of incidental infect fuel and mana fixing for one generic mana. In any deck that cares about proliferate or Myr tribal — especially Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch — it pulls double duty without asking anything extra from your mana base.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch

68.1% of decks · synergy 0.66

Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch untaps all your Myr during combat, so Myr Convert contributes both a colored mana source and a poison counter that Urtet's proliferate triggers can stack into a legitimate win condition.

02
Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa

Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa

50.6% of decks · synergy 0.48

Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa wants poison counters on opponents as fast as possible to trigger its corrupted ability, and Myr Convert delivers one for free on entry — before you've spent a single attack.

03
Arcum Dagsson

Arcum Dagsson

40.0% of decks · synergy 0.39

Arcum Dagsson can sacrifice any artifact creature to tutor a noncreature artifact, and Myr Convert is a zero-ask sacrifice target that replaces itself in the chain while leaving a poison counter behind.

04
Vishgraz, the Doomhive

Vishgraz, the Doomhive

38.7% of decks · synergy 0.36

Vishgraz, the Doomhive scales its Mite token output to the number of poison counters on opponents, and Myr Convert is one of the cheapest ways to pre-load that count before combat even begins.

05
Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos

Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos

28.1% of decks · synergy 0.27

Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos generates Phyrexian tokens whenever opponents gain poison counters, so the free counter Myr Convert places on entry immediately triggers that engine the turn it lands.

Commander is the clear home for Myr Convert — the combination of artifact creature typing, free poison counter, and color-fixing is tailor-made for five-color Myr or proliferate builds that need all three of those things. In Modern and Pioneer, a 1/1 for one that taps for mana has seen fringe infect play, but dedicated infect decks in those formats prefer creatures that deal poison through combat rather than a single passive counter. Legacy and Vintage have the card pool to ignore it entirely. Myr Convert is a Commander card first and a curiosity elsewhere.
