Myconid Spore Tender generates one green mana for each Fungus or Saproling you control — in the right deck, that's four or five mana off a single tap. Slimefoot, the Stowaway is the canonical home: flood the board with Saprolings, and Spore Tender turns that token pile into a mana engine that snowballs the turn you need it most.

Slimefoot, the Stowaway
Slimefoot, the Stowaway constantly produces Saprolings, and Myconid Spore Tender converts that board presence directly into mana — the more tokens Slimefoot has generated, the larger the burst this tap produces, enabling explosive turns where you drain the table and refuel simultaneously.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Myconid Spore Tender is a Commander card through and through — its ceiling scales with board state, and multiplayer games give it time to matter. In Pauper it's technically legal but too conditional for a format that demands immediate value, and no established Pauper archetype wants this kind of setup. Legacy and Vintage don't care: the power bar is set by free spells and broken consistency, and a tap-for-mana creature that requires a populated Saproling board isn't competing there. Commander is the only format where Myconid Spore Tender consistently earns its slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Myconid Spore Tender is deep bulk — you'll spend more on a sleeve than the card itself. Bulk rares with narrow tribal applications rarely spike, so expect it to stay in this tier unless a high-profile Fungus or Saproling commander drives sudden demand.
