Mortal's Ardor gives a creature lifelink and +1/+1 until end of turn for a single white mana — clean, immediate, and gone the moment the turn ends. It's a combat trick that replaces itself only in your life total, which is not enough to justify a slot in most lists.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Mortal's Ardor is legal across Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but sees virtually no competitive play in any of them. In Pauper it's the most plausible home — aggressive white strategies occasionally want cheap lifelink enablers to survive racing matchups — but even there, instants with more lasting impact crowd it out. In Commander, a one-turn buff with no card draw, no permanent effect, and no combo relevance is almost never worth a slot in a 99-card deck.

Price Context
Current price
$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Mortal's Ardor sits firmly in bulk territory and is unlikely to climb — demand is too thin across too many formats. Pick it up if a specific budget aggressive deck needs the effect, but don't expect the price to move.
