Moriok Rigger turns every artifact sacrifice into a permanent +1/+1 counter, snowballing fast in any deck that feeds the bin regularly. The cost — a three-mana 2/1 with no immediate board impact — means it earns its slot only if you're sacrificing artifacts on the same turn it lands.

In Commander, Moriok Rigger finds its best home in artifact sacrifice shells, where it can grow large enough to close games in the mid-to-late turns. Competitive EDH mostly ignores it — three mana for a 2/1 with no immediate effect is too slow when the table is winning on turn four. In Legacy and Vintage, artifact sacrifice is fast and powerful, but Moriok Rigger is simply outclassed by cards that win the game outright rather than accrue counters. Modern has the artifact infrastructure to feed it, but no real reason to run it over threats with more immediate board presence. This is a Commander-only card in practice, and even there it belongs only in dedicated artifact sacrifice builds.

Price Context
Current price
$0.60 bulk tier
At $0.60, Moriok Rigger sits firmly in bulk territory — easy to acquire, easy to cut if the deck moves on. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless a popular new artifact-sacrifice commander puts it on the radar.
