Moonglove Extract enters the battlefield and sits there until you sacrifice it to deal 2 damage to any target — a one-time ping stapled to an artifact with no ongoing upside. The only reason to run it is in a deck like Toph, the First Metalbender that explicitly rewards having sacrificeable artifacts on board; everywhere else, it's outclassed by cheaper or reusable removal.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Moonglove Extract is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but competitive play in any of those formats has no use for it — two damage for three mana at sorcery speed is far below rate in Legacy or Modern. In Pauper it's legal but irrelevant given the density of efficient commons that actually affect the board repeatedly. Commander is where it sees any play at all, strictly in artifact-synergy decks that need bodies to sacrifice, and even there it's a fringe inclusion rather than a staple.

$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Moonglove Extract is deep bulk — the price of a card nobody is actively seeking out. It holds no financial value and won't appreciate; pick it out of a bulk box if you need it and don't give it a second thought.
