Mistform Skyreaver lands as a 4/4 flying shapeshifter for six mana — reasonable stats with evasion, but the real draw is that it counts as every creature type simultaneously, making it a universal tribal payoff. The cost is steep enough that it only earns its slot when the tribal synergies it enables are worth more than whatever else you'd cast at six.

Commander is the only format where Mistform Skyreaver is genuinely worth considering, and even there it earns a slot only in tribal decks that reward creature-type stacking — Slivers, Changelings, or any commander that cares about a specific type and wants redundant bodies. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but wholly outclassed; no competitive shell is looking for a six-mana vanilla-adjacent flier when faster, more impactful threats exist at every point on the curve. The card lives and dies in Commander's tribal corner.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Mistform Skyreaver is deep bulk — you're not spending real money to find out whether it works in your list. It's unlikely to appreciate; demand is narrow and supply is plentiful, so treat it as a free experiment rather than a long-term hold.
