Mishra, Claimed by Gix

Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Human Artificer

Whenever you attack, each opponent loses X life and you gain X life, where X is the number of attacking creatures. If Mishra, Claimed by Gix and a creature named Phyrexian Dragon Engine are attacking, and you both own and control them, exile them, then meld them into Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia. It enters tapped and attacking.

Mishra, Claimed by Gix card art
Mishra, Claimed by Gix drains every opponent for 1 and gains you 1 life every time he and another creature attack — an engine that compounds fast at a four-player table. The cost is a five-mana body in Rakdos colors that needs attack triggers to matter, but Isshin, Two Heavens as One doubles every trigger and turns incremental drain into a clock opponents can't ignore.

Isshin, Two Heavens as One doubles Mishra, Claimed by Gix's attack trigger, so each attack step drains each opponent for 2 and pads your life total by 2 per creature swinging — in a wide board, that's a lethal life-swing per turn cycle.

Commander is where Mishra, Claimed by Gix does its best work: four opponents means each attack trigger hits the table for a combined 3 life drained before combat damage is even calculated, and that scales with every additional attacker. In 1v1 formats like Legacy or Modern, the trigger hits one player for 1, which is too slow and too small to compete with what five mana buys elsewhere in those formats. Pioneer is similarly unforgiving — aggro and midrange threats at five mana need immediate, unconditional impact, and Mishra asks for a combat step before he does anything. He's legal in Oathbreaker but the singleton pressure and faster games make the payoff inconsistent.

No current price data is available for Mishra, Claimed by Gix, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for live listings before buying. Given that he's a legendary creature from a supplemental product with a narrow best-fit in Isshin decks, he tends to sit in a modest range — worth picking up if you're building that shell, but there's no urgency to chase copies.
