Mirran Safehouse enters untapped, taps for colorless, and lets you name any basic land type — meaning it produces any color of mana the turn you need it, permanently. Griffin Canyon does the same trick but only for Horses; Mirran Safehouse does it for everything, with no creature-type restriction and no downside.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Mirran Safehouse earns a regular slot — five-color and heavily off-color builds want every painless fixer they can find, and a land that enters untapped and covers any gap in your mana base on demand is quietly excellent. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer the card is legal but irrelevant; those formats demand lands that do more than produce one mana, and Mirran Safehouse has no fetchability, no cycling, and no upside beyond the naming effect. Vintage is the same story — legal, invisible. Play it in Commander and ignore it everywhere else.

Current price
$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Mirran Safehouse is pure bulk — the kind of card you pull from a box or pick up as a throw-in without thinking twice. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless a high-profile five-color commander drives a spike, so there's no urgency in either direction.
