Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker card art
Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker turns every unblocked attack into a mill-until-four-lands trigger — at five mana for a 2/4 flier, the body is fragile but the payoff is immediate and compounding. He wins games on his own if opponents can't answer evasion, which makes the removal magnet problem a feature: a four-mana kill spell on your 5-drop is fine when that 5-drop mills thirty cards unanswered.

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind

37.9% of decks · synergy 0.36

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind turns every Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker trigger into a free Lazav copy — each batch of milled cards is a menu of creatures Lazav can wear, so a single unblocked swing routinely hands Lazav two or three upgrade options at once.

02
Phenax, God of Deception

Phenax, God of Deception

31.4% of decks · synergy 0.29

Phenax, God of Deception mills at tap-down speed, and Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker adds a combat-damage vector that mills non-linearly — hitting four lands in one swing can gut an opponent's library faster than a dozen Phenax activations.

03
Lord Xander, the Collector

Lord Xander, the Collector

25.4% of decks · synergy 0.25

Lord Xander, the Collector builds a misery-stack of discard, sacrifice, and mill effects, and Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker fits that gameplan by threatening to mill out any player who leaves combat open, compounding the resource denial Lord Xander already applies.

Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive Constructed formats ignore him entirely — five mana for a 2/4 that requires combat damage to function is nowhere near the rate those formats demand. Commander is the only home where he's genuinely good: multiplayer games run long enough for his trigger to matter, opponents can't always spare removal on a single threat, and mill-until-four-lands scales brutally against 100-card libraries. In Oathbreaker he's playable in dedicated mill shells but faces the same tempo problem as in Constructed — faster games punish a 5-drop that doesn't immediately close.

Price Context

Current price

$0.49 bulk tier

At $0.49, Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker is bulk, and that price is correct — supply is wide and demand is narrow enough that it won't climb without a reprint driving renewed attention. Pick him up for his mill synergies without any budget concern; the only thing to spend more on is protecting him once he hits the table.
