Mire's Malice makes an opponent discard two cards at sorcery speed for four mana — that's a bad rate by any competitive measure. Bulk rare-level effect, bulk price; run it only if your playgroup specifically rewards hand disruption and you've already exhausted better options.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Mire's Malice sees essentially no play in competitive formats — four mana for two discards at sorcery speed is too slow for Legacy, Vintage, or Modern, where Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek exist at a fraction of the cost and hit before the opponent has deployed their hand. In Pauper it's legal but irrelevant; dedicated discard shells there run more efficient commons. Commander is its most defensible home, specifically in dedicated discard-matters decks helmed by commanders that reward each discard trigger, but even there it sits at the bottom of the inclusion list behind nearly every other discard spell in black.

Current price
$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Mire's Malice is deep bulk — you're buying it out of a penny box, not a singles binder. That price reflects demand accurately; don't expect it to move.
