Mire Boa card art
Mire Boa is a regenerating 2/1 swampwalker for two mana — evasion and resilience baked into a single efficient body. In Aphelia, Viper Whisperer decks it earns its slot immediately, triggering the snake-tribal engine while demanding two mana every time an opponent tries to kill it.

Aphelia, Viper Whisperer wants every snake that pulls its weight on both offense and defense, and Mire Boa delivers — swampwalk makes it unblockable in any black-heavy pod, and regeneration means it survives the board wipes Aphelia decks have to grind through.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

Mire Boa is a narrow card in most formats: swampwalk is only live when opponents are already on black, so its ceiling depends entirely on the meta. In Commander, black is the most-played color, which makes the evasion relevant far more often than it would be in a curated 60-card format. In Pauper, a regenerating two-drop with built-in evasion has real legs in any green aggressive shell — the floor is a sticky blocker, the ceiling is unblockable every game against Mono-Black or Dimir lists. Legacy and Vintage are too fast and too hostile to three-toughness creatures for Mire Boa to see serious play.

Price Context

Current price

$0.13 bulk tier

At $0.13, Mire Boa is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box without thinking twice. Bulk snake tribal pieces rarely spike unless a new commander breaks the tribe wide open, so expect the price to stay flat.
