Mindmelter forces each opponent to exile the top two cards of their library on your end step — every turn, automatically, with no extra investment. The catch is that it costs five mana for a 2/2 with no immediate board impact, which is a steep rate in any competitive context.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Mindmelter has any real conversation to be had — three opponents means six cards milled per turn cycle, and if you're pairing it with payoffs for exiled cards or graveyard hate, the effect compounds. Outside Commander, Mindmelter doesn't show up in Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer because five mana for a slow mill engine that doesn't affect the board is unplayable at those speeds. Oathbreaker shares enough of Commander's multiplayer math to make it marginally interesting, but the same rate problems apply.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Mindmelter is deep bulk — the price reflects demand, which is low. It won't depreciate further, but there's no pressure to pick it up unless you're actively building around it.
