Replicate (When you cast this spell, copy it for each time you paid its replicate cost. You may choose new targets for the copies.)
Choose target permanent an opponent controls. Search that player's library for a card with the same name and put it onto the battlefield under your control. Then that player shuffles.

Mimeofacture lets you copy any permanent on the battlefield — at instant speed, and buyback means you can repeat it every turn with enough mana. The catch is nine mana total with buyback, which makes this a late-game card in decks that generate serious blue mana.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only realistic home for Mimeofacture — the card is designed around the late-game resource accumulation that 100-card singleton encourages, and opponents reliably present high-value permanents worth copying. In Legacy and Vintage, nine mana is a non-starter when the format ends on turns two or three; even at base five mana without buyback, you're competing against formats that demand immediate impact. Mimeofacture is legal in Oathbreaker but faces the same speed problem in a compressed game state. Stick to Commander.

Price Context
Current price
$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Mimeofacture is bulk, and it has been for years — low demand from competitive formats keeps it there. It holds its floor because Commander players occasionally want a repeatable copy effect, but don't expect the price to move.
