Memory Deluge card art
Memory Deluge lets you look at the top four cards and put two into your hand — effectively a two-for-one at instant speed — and the flashback clause means you can do it again for seven mana, looking at six and keeping two. The four-mana ask is real, but instant speed and built-in replayability make it one of the cleaner blue draw spells in Commander. Neerdiv, Devious Diver decks in particular treat it as a core piece, and the inclusion rate backs that up.

Neerdiv, Devious Diver triggers off casting spells from anywhere other than your hand, so flashing Memory Deluge back from the graveyard fires that ability twice — once on the original cast and once on the flashback — making it one of the most efficient fuel sources in the deck.

In Commander, Memory Deluge earns its slot because instant speed and flashback both matter at a table where you're holding up mana every turn anyway. The four-mana cast is competitive with Fact or Fiction, and the flashback gives it staying power in long games where other draw spells are already in the bin. In Pioneer and Modern, it sees occasional play in control shells that want a late-game refuel at instant speed, though it competes with cheaper or more explosive options in both formats. Legacy and Vintage have access to so much broken card selection that Memory Deluge rarely makes the cut outside of budget or casual builds. Commander is where it does its best work.

Price Context

Current price

$0.55 bulk tier

At $0.55, Memory Deluge is firmly bulk — easy to acquire and an efficient use of a dollar in any blue Commander list that wants instant-speed draw. Bulk rares with consistent Commander demand tend to stay in this range, so there's no urgency to buy in quantity, but picking up a copy for a deck costs less than a sleeve upgrade.
