In Commander, Memorial Team Leader slots into any tribal deck where the lord effect stacks with similar payoffs — the more lords in play, the faster your creatures outscale removal. Competitive 60-card formats are harder to justify: Modern and Pioneer both have tribal lords with stronger bodies or added utility, and Memorial Team Leader doesn't clear that bar. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for a three-mana vanilla lord. Standard and Pioneer are the realistic floor for competitive play, and even there it lands as a role-player rather than a staple.
