Maze Behemoth gives all your multicolored creatures trample for a single green mana at instant speed, which is a real effect — the problem is that a 4/6 vanilla body for five mana is not. It belongs only in dedicated multicolor-matters builds where the trample anthem does enough lifting to justify the slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Maze Behemoth is a Commander card and essentially nothing else. In every competitive format — Modern, Pioneer, Legacy — a five-mana 4/6 with a conditional anthem is nowhere near playable when the same budget buys interaction or threats with immediate impact. Pauper is the one edge case worth mentioning: the format is slower and creature combat matters more, but even there the card sees no meaningful play. In Commander, Maze Behemoth earns a narrow roster spot in multicolor-matters decks where the flash clause lets you ambush attackers while simultaneously granting trample to your own board, but outside that niche it's a bulk rare collecting dust.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Maze Behemoth is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box, not buy deliberately. It won't hold or gain value; casual demand from multicolor Commander builds keeps it from hitting zero, but that's the ceiling.
