Markov Waltzer gives your Vampires a free pump and a Vampire token whenever it attacks alongside another Vampire — meaningful board pressure stapled onto a two-mana body. The cost is that it does nothing in isolation, so it earns its slot only in a deck already committed to the tribe.

Markov Waltzer is a Commander card through and through — its trigger scales with the number of Vampires you control, and token-doubling effects common in the format make that single Vampire token snowball fast. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too conditional; Vampire aggro there wants one-drops that close games, not a two-drop that needs a friend to do anything. Legacy and Vintage have no interest. Commander is the only home where Markov Waltzer earns consistent value.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Markov Waltzer is deep bulk — safe to pick up without a second thought. Bulk Vampire tribal pieces rarely spike unless a pushed new commander drags them up, so treat this as a cheap role-player, not a spec.
