Markov Crusader is a four-mana 3/3 Vampire Knight with haste and protection from Humans — a clean evasive threat that hits the turn it lands and shrugs off the most common blocker type in Commander. The protection clause does real work in creature-heavy metas where Human tokens and utility creatures would otherwise chump indefinitely.

In Commander, Markov Crusader earns its slot almost exclusively in Vampire tribal — outside that context, a 3/3 haste with situational protection isn't compelling enough at four mana to cut generically better threats. Within tribal, the protection from Humans is surprisingly relevant given how many popular commanders and utility staples are Human, meaning Markov Crusader can attack into boards that would wall out most creatures its size. In constructed formats like Modern and Pioneer, it competes against a much tighter curve where four-mana creatures need to dominate the board immediately, and a 3/3 without enters-the-battlefield value doesn't clear that bar. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest. Markov Crusader is, simply, a Commander-only card — specifically a Vampire tribal role-player and nothing more.

Pricing data isn't available for Markov Crusader at the moment, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a current number. Given its narrow tribal application, it's almost certainly a budget pickup — Vampire tribal commons and uncommons from this era rarely hold significant value.
