Mantle of Tides card art
Mantle of Tides equips for free whenever you draw your second card in a turn, turning a +1/+2 aura into a persistent buff that costs nothing to maintain once the engine is running. Outside of dedicated draw-step abuse strategies, the payoff is too narrow to justify a deck slot.

In Commander, Mantle of Tides belongs exclusively in decks built around drawing multiple cards per turn, where the free-equip trigger fires consistently and the +1/+2 buff matters on a specific threat. In Pauper it competes in Heroic and aura-based strategies where cheap enchantments have more universal value, but the conditional equip clause makes it weaker than straightforward pump auras unless the deck is already running a second-draw engine. Modern and Legacy have no meaningful home for it — the effect is too small and too slow for those formats, and the restriction means it often sits as a dead aura for a full turn. Mantle of Tides is a narrow build-around piece that rewards the right shell generously and does almost nothing in the wrong one.

Price Context

Current price

$0.08 bulk tier

At $0.08, Mantle of Tides is deep bulk — you can pick up a playset for less than a dollar without thinking twice. The price is stable because demand is limited to niche draw-engine Commander builds, so don't expect movement in either direction.
