Magus of the Unseen lets you steal and use an opponent's artifact every turn — a persistent, repeatable threat that compounds fast. The cost is that it's a fragile 1/3 that telegraphs its intent the moment it hits the board.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |

In Commander, Magus of the Unseen earns its slot in artifact-theft strategies or any deck that wants to weaponize opponents' rocks and equipment against them — four opponents means four targets. Legacy and Vintage are the only other formats where it's legal, but a 1/3 with a tap ability is far too slow for either environment. Commander is the only home where Magus of the Unseen is actually good.

Price Context
Current price
$0.51 bulk tier
At $0.51, Magus of the Unseen is firmly bulk — easy to pick up, unlikely to move unless a theft-tribal commander breaks out and pulls demand. Grab it for the effect, not the price tag.
