Magnetic Mine turns every artifact an opponent sacrifices or has destroyed into a Shock aimed at their face — in artifact-heavy metas, that damage stacks fast and punishes combo-sacrifice lines without you lifting a finger. Four mana for a static enchantment is the real cost: it does nothing until opponents interact with their own artifacts, so it's a meta call, not a universal include.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Magnetic Mine earns its slot — artifact-reliant strategies like Breya, Etherium Shaper or Sharuum the Hegemon loops can take ten or twenty damage off a single combo sequence, and that kind of incidental punishment is hard to see coming. Outside Commander, the card is legal in Legacy, Modern, and Vintage, but sees essentially no play in any of them: those formats move too fast and too efficiently for a four-mana do-nothing enchantment to matter. Magnetic Mine is a 75% Commander card through and through — the right meta punishes it as a wasted slot; the right meta rewards it as a quietly devastating hate piece.

Price Context
Current price
$0.32 bulk tier
At $0.32, Magnetic Mine is firmly bulk — you're picking it out of a dollar box, not tracking it down. Bulk artifact hate rarely spikes unless a specific combo deck dominates the format, so don't expect movement.
