Magnetic Flux gives all your artifacts flying and vigilance until end of turn — a combat trick that can swing a race or make a blocker wall out of nowhere. It costs two mana at instant speed, which is the right price for the effect in any deck running a critical mass of artifacts.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Magnetic Flux actually earns a slot, specifically in artifact-heavy decks that go wide — think Breya, Etherium Shaper or Urza, Lord High Artificer builds that can suddenly present a flying army at instant speed. In Pauper, it's a fringe consideration for artifact aggro shells, though the format's threat density makes a one-shot buff harder to build around. Legacy and Vintage have the artifact density to abuse it but also have far more broken things to do, so Magnetic Flux won't see play there. It's legal in Oathbreaker under the same logic as Commander: niche but functional in the right shell.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Magnetic Flux is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not the effect. Bulk commons don't appreciate, so grab a copy when you need one and don't think twice about it.
