Lyev Skyknight lands as a 3/1 flier that detains a permanent on entry — immediate tempo swing, no setup required. Three mana for that effect is fair, not broken, but the flying body staying relevant after the detain expires makes it serviceable filler in tempo-oriented blue-white builds.

In Commander, Lyev Skyknight is a role-player at best — detaining one permanent at a table of three opponents rarely changes a game, and a 3/1 body folds to any serious combat. Pauper is where it has seen real play, since the detain effect at common rarity carries genuine tempo weight in a format with fewer ways to break through it. In Modern and Pioneer the power bar is too high for a vanilla-statted three-drop whose effect doesn't scale, and Legacy and Vintage don't even notice it. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander in this regard: fine in a blue-white aggro shell, irrelevant anywhere else.

Price data isn't available for Lyev Skyknight at the moment, but given its history as a bulk common with narrow competitive applications, copies typically turn up in the sub-$0.50 range without much effort. It's not a card worth hunting down — if you need it, a draft chaff bin or a bulk order fills the slot cheaply.
